Senior citizen health care service package: COiN is happy to announce initiation of project "Senior Citizen Health Care Services" that will identify a total of 100 senior citizens during a period of three years and provide a health care package. (more)

Regular clinics : As part of our aim, we are providing free medical and health checks to geriatrics and poor people in our community. Regular clinic services include blood pressure, ECGs, blood sugar and other routine investigations, and prescribing appropriate treatments and referrals. (more)

Free health camps: Several times an year, we set up health camps where volunteer doctors administer to the patients. These camps are of variable duration, one day to multi day camps depending on the site and resources. (more)

Nutrition and Health: Matabolic disorders such as diabetes and obesity are manageable with changes in nutrition and lifestyle. We bring to you recipes and nutritional information at our site. Currently, we have contributions from famous Indian cookbook writer Mrs. Tarla Dalal and world famous doctor of integrative medicine Dr. Andrew Weil. (more)

Hypertension awareness programme: Hypertension or high blood pressure is the most common disease among the elderly population in India. High blood pressure increases the risk for heart attack and stroke. WHO 1999 reports that 1 out of every 3 deaths in India is due to heart diseases. (more)

Diabetes awareness programme: For reasons of genetics and lifestyle changes, Indian’s already form the world’s largest diabetic population. Of patients diagnosed with diabetes, over 90% suffer from type 2 diabetes and having type 2 diabetes increases your risk for many serious complications. (more)

Osteoarthritis awareness programme: Osteoarthritis is one of the top 5 diseases that afflicts elderly population. Disability due to arthritis can not only result in job limitations and lost wages, it can also cause depression, anxiety, feelings of helplessness, trouble participating in everyday personal and family joys and responsibilities. Despite these challenges, most people with osteoarthritis can lead active and productive lives. (more)

Keep dengue at bay: According to health authorities, at least 127,000 people were infected by dengue, a mosquito borne disease, following the monsoon season in 2005, along an arc that stretches from eastern India through the Indonesian archipelago, with at least 990 deaths. Adoption of elderly people: At COiN, we believe that an old person is best served in his own home environment. We try to provide care at home covering social and emotional support, health care support and as we grow to provide financial support through pension like scheme. Uprooting some one from his house and putting him in an old age home away from his loved ones may help him to survive but it may not provide quality life. However, there are elderly people who have no family to care for them. In such cases, COiN is committed towards sponsoring destitute elderly people in nearby old age homes. (more)
